That's quite a decent way of introducing bitcoin to people. Tell them about what bitcoin is trying to do, what it's advantages are, a bit of the nooby-friendly technicalities, those stuff. People mostly tell people about bitcoin mainly as an investment, and how "you're going to get rich!". Which is definitely one of the worst ways of introducing it.

That's true. Because when someone starts talking about all the benefits and how they can get rich through it, that person might think that you are trying to recruit him/her into that "business". And people are a little skeptic when it comes to that. Others even try hard to steer away from those people. It's best to just give them the basic information and let them decide on what they think about it.

I don't really purposely introduce Bitcoin to other people. We just naturally go and talk about that topic, particularly when we start talking about investment or having a business. The most recent one was my colleague at work. He wasn't familiar with Bitcoin or any crypto. So I just explained the basics of it, and just like you, I didn't really try to convince him into investing. And he just seemed pretty neutral about it.

I talk about bitcoin a lot and lately I've found that a lot of people know about it, but it seems to be a generational thing. Bitcoin much more easily reaches younger people. That being said, you shouldn't assume that everyone already knows about bitcoin or understands even the very basic ideas behind why we need such a thing.


I've introduced bitcoin to a lot of people and generally I don't tell them to invest. I tell them a little bit about why I'm excited about it and I explain to them its properties and inner workings to the extent I understand them and to the extent that my listener doesn't lose interest.
