I am using an offline wallet as well and I really do recommend it! There are many available hardware wallets where you can store you private keys and I attest that it is a lot safer and more secure than online wallets. I had an online wallet before but it has been hacked.

We store private keys on our wallet. Private keys are what we use to spend our bitcoin. So even if you are offline, you can still receive coins because Bitcoin transactions are stored in a global ledger and everything is recorded. So the reason offline wallets are safer is because you can only spend Bitcoin by using the private keys stored in the wallet to which only you have an access to. Hope this helps!

I also think the same as you. It seems not familiar and rarely hears. But I know an offline wallet that provides good security for Bitcoin, It is Segwit. If someone here ever knows about it, I think he will recommend using the wallet. It is also a recommended wallet to use.

How is this possible? If you are offline then you are not interacting with bitcoin blockchain ...
