I also think the same as you. It seems not familiar and rarely hears. But I know an offline wallet that provides good security for Bitcoin, It is Segwit. If someone here ever knows about it, I think he will recommend using the wallet. It is also a recommended wallet to use.

I am using an offline wallet as well and I really do recommend it! There are many available hardware wallets where you can store you private keys and I attest that it is a lot safer and more secure than online wallets. I had an online wallet before but it has been hacked.Originally Posted by PALM

This is true. The thing that I feared the most before entering the market is the risk of my e-wallet being hacked. That is why when I found out about the different hardware wallets, I didn't think twice and switched to hardware wallet immediately.

We store private keys on our wallet. Private keys are what we use to spend our bitcoin. So even if you are offline, you can still receive coins because Bitcoin transactions are stored in a global ledger and everything is recorded. So the reason offline wallets are safer is because you can only spend Bitcoin by using the private keys stored in the wallet to which only you have an access to. Hope this helps!
