What are the skills and things that you must have before you start trading?

For me, these are the essentials:
a. High research and analytical capability- because you must be able to fully understand the market in order to profit
b. A lot of patience and determination to stay in the market
c. Self-discipline (ie. knowing your limitations) and;
d. Self-control (ie. keeping your emotions out of the picture)

Letter D is always a struggle for me. I can't keep my emotions.

Let me add that a trader must have strong focus. There are a lot of information roaming in the internet world and traders must be able to know which information they need in order to maximize their trading actions.

2. Strong inclination in finance and the financial markets.
3. Has the ability to work in a team.
4. Can decide independently.

First, I control myself not to be impulsive. Second, I always make sure that my mind is clear. And Lastly, I always remind myself that the market is highly speculative. Thus, the outcome is uncertain.
