Would you say that Bitcoin has shed it's speculator skin and emerged as a true currency, after this correction?

What correction are you talking about? Anyway, as for it being a true currency, I can somehow consider it to be that way because it has been actively used for transactions already. Although criticisms and speculations are still inevitable.
