Store bitcoin in wallet and not exchange platforms. Save your secret keys on a hard drive, external if possible. Install a strong antivirus on your system to prevent hack. Do not save passwords on your computer.

Just reading on bitcoinwiki, it says that to date there have been no verifiable incidents of Bitcoins stolen from hardware wallets and much of the time, the software is open source, allowing a user to validate the entire operation of the device. so...

A really important point is not to operate on a public Wifi....there are already several cases where hackers have stolen bitcoins on open unsecure wifis.

I always secure my account details, such as email addresses and passwords. I also set up two-factor authentication to safeguard my account.

Bitcoin private key with anyone. Do not reuse Bitcoin addresses (most modern wallets don't do this anymore). Don't post your email address, home address or phone number on social media. Always keep your computer anti-virus up to date so you don't

As much as possible, use a hard wallet to keep it offline. Also, don't give out your private keys to anyone. If, by any chance, you need to give your private keys to someone you absolutely trust, don't use an online platform to tell that person.
